Full detail

Brand backgroundJim Deacon was a budget UK brand (linked to SMIRA, the Scottish Musical Instrument Retailers Association) selling Far-East-made copies of classic Fender designs through the 1990s-2000s. Multiple secondhand listings (Reverb, Gumtree) confirm a 'Jim Deacon Jazz Bass' model exists, but no official spec sheet or retailer datasheet with body/neck wood, hardware, or scale length could be located; the JJ pickup layout and 4-string count are inferred from the 'Jazz Bass' model naming convention, which is standard across the brand's Fender-style copies (their P-Bass-style models use maple necks and rosewood fingerboards)

Build quality noteOwners commonly compare build quality to entry-level Squier Affinity-tier instruments; quality varied by production run/factory
